Self-Led Village Visit

All Grades

Looking for a self-led option that allows students to explore the Heritage Village at a pace that works best for them?

Then this is the option for you! Self-led exploration lets students look in the various heritage buildings while exploring at pace that works best for your group. During your visit you are able to talk with available costumed staff and participate in any public visitor demonstrations.

Length of Visit Varies- $7.00 per student

Available Thursdays and Fridays only between the May long weekend and Thanksgiving Monday.

  • Chaperones and Teachers are free.

  • During self-led visits students are asked to go in smaller chaperoned groups. They must be chaperoned at all times.

  • Since this option is only available during the times the museum is open to the public, we ask that groups be mindful of other visitors onsite.

  • We will also be running other pre-booked education programs at the same time. We ask that students be respectful of other groups using certain spaces. If a class is already in a space we ask that you wait or take a look later in the day.

  • Indoor lunch space is not guaranteed for this booking option, but picnic tables are available onsite.

Two young boys, wearing straw hats, lean on a cedar rail fence and look at sheep and lambs that are grazing in front of a log stable.
