Remember the past, by joining together today!
On August 1st of 1834, the Slavery Abolition Act came into effect for the British Empire. In Canada, communities began holding Emancipation Day events to commemorate the day. In London Ontario, these celebrations often included parades around the core of the city.
Join us this year at 12:40 pm to take part in a parade around the Village grounds and presentations about London's rich Black History. And followed by a ceremony and presentations at 1:00pm.
