Experience a WWI Christmas Story
In 1914, a brief, unofficial truce took place along parts of the Western Front, as soldiers on opposing sides marked the season together.
During this event small groups will be led through the Heritage Village, where they will learn about life during the war and will experience the unique story of the Christmas Truce at our replica WWI trench. Length: Approximately 2 hours once taken inside the Heritage Village.
Presented in Partnership with History Matters Association
For this event, due to the Magic of Lights happening inside the Fanshawe Conservation Area, entrance to this event will be at 2609 Fanshawe Park Rd (our back entrance). Do NOT use 1424 Clarke Rd, and do not enter through the main entrance of the Conservation Area. 2609 Fanshawe Park Rd, is at the very end of Fanshawe Park Rd, simply drive east on Fanshawe Park Rd when you get to Fanshawe Park Rd and Clarke Intersection, (away from London/Masonville Mall). Expect to see several cars going the opposite way on this road, as a nearby gate is the Exit for the Magic of Lights.
