Christmases of Days Gone By

Kindergarten, Grades 2, 3

Discover 19th century Christmas traditions, while learning how settlers and some people in this region celebrated in the winter months.  Students will share with us their own celebrations, cultures, and family traditions, as they learn how the Christmas tree came to Canada while making a simple craft, help make candles in the Log House, and print their own greeting card in the Village Print Shop.  This seasonal program lets students compare and contrast celebrations and traditions of the past to those of today.
